There are many MDs who used Rafi Saab for Raj Kapoor in some Films.

But, Shankar Jaikishan have one unique specialty to their credit. They are the first MDs to have ever used Rafi Saab for Raj Kapoor, in Film:Barsat (1949), in a solo, “Main Zindagi Mein Hardam Rota Hi Raha Hoon“. And Film:Barsaat (1949) happens to be SJ’s very first Film too. (more…)

(Suraiya’s Journey With Rafi)

Between 1948 and 1958, Mohammed Rafi Saab had sung over 25 memorable duets with Suraiya. Probably, the first ever Rafi-Suraiya duet was “Taron Bhari Raat Hai Par Tu Kahan” in Film:Kajal-1948, composed by Ghulam Mohammed. Mohammed Rafi Saab was very much at ease while singing any type of songs. He used to sing all types of songs effortlessly as usual maintaining the melody and his forte, throw of words. Whenever there are situations in our Films when the hero is betrayed by the Heroine, usually our Heroes sing songs wishing the heroine all the best and also narrate how they would sacrifice their love for the sake of her. But, as I recollect, there are two rare songs sung by Rafi Saab, where the hero expresses his hatred for his lady love for betraying him and the songs have hatred or Nafrat as the main theme.
