It is for the 11th consecutive year that Waves, which consists of some of the best known singers of the expatriate community, is hosting an event in memory of the phenomenal Indian singer, who passed away on July 31, 1980.

The organisers of the concert said the proceeds from the event would go to the humanitarian activities of the ICBF, which works under the auspices of the Indian embassy.

Besides Thoyyib, the other singers to enliven the evening include Saleem Pavaratty, Abdul Khair, Imtiaz, Rajeev Saxena, Aishwarya Murali, Parvati Chandran and Nadeer Abdul Salam among others.

A live orchestra will back up the performers. The event is scheduled for 7.30pm. Indian Ambassador Dr George Joseph will be the chief guest.
