Still many more, mind is not able to read, but RAFI’s magical voice has lifted every songs to such a height that it is impossible for anyone to even cross half mark of it.

We salute you Rafi Saheb, we love you, we miss you, You are the only one…………………. for true music lovers.

Salimji, I totally agree there is no singer who can sing in the way the great Mohd Rafi saheb could and that’s why making comparisons to him is pointless as there is absolutely no one who comes close, even if you listen to old duets sung my Lata and Rafi for example you could be mistaken for thinking because the song is so old that the parts Lata sang are not sang with any clarity and the voice keeps breaking but then how can you account for the fact that the parts that Mohd Rafi sang are sung so beautifully on the same track? The evidence and facts are there before most peoples eyes and should I say ears. That is why when both sang the same song individually Mohd Rafi’s version always came on top.

baharo phool barasao is the lifetime great song.

  5. chandrakant says:

it is realy true that baharo phool barsaao indeed very well picturised and sweetest song. And above all most populer song in hindi film history.

  6. salim k says:

There are innumerable songs of Rafi Sahab that deserve an award. There is no such thing as the best song of Rafi Sahab, its like saying which star in the universe twinkles more than others.

Last month we played songs of all singers in a studio will full volume and clarity. there were fans of many singers and at the end of this experiment all the fans of other singers had to admit that Rafi sahab had the most control, clarity, range and vocal modulation than any other singer.

One more point they all noticed that Rafi sahab is the only singer that can change his vocal range without any effort, some of the singers voice shrilled, cracked and looked under stress at a high range but with Rafi Sahab what can one say.

This test was not for me, i knew from day 1, Rafi Sahab is unique, a miracle.

MOHAMMAD RAFI IS ONLY ONCE IN A LIFE TIME…HIS RELIGIOUS CONVICTION MAKES HIM A GREATER MAN…………..

  8. Sarwat Baig says:

I have made this request earlier, and now take the liberty of requesting Mr. Binu Nair and/or other respected contributors to please prepare a list of all those actors particularly the leading men who have been lucky enough to have his songs picturised on them…Govinda and Mithun included. Televised interviews are also very important. Mr. Kutty and Mr. Haldar , Iam sure Mr. Nair won’t turn down your request. Keeping my fingers crossd.

  9. Sarwat Baig says:

You are welcome, Ms. Shammi. We are all Rafi Sahib loyalists, therefore we must help one another. That is the. least we can do for our idol. I am also a forty plus mother and with every passimg day feel that no singerwill ever match up. to him., let alone surpass him. I think by the time..we actually. understood the phenomenon, he was long gone. I still remember my father bringing home a a newspaper with pictures of his funeral and of course his signature smiling face on the front page. I was in Junior school then, too young to recognise or realize the loss probably. But thanks to the dedication of the Rafi Foundation, even passive supporters like us have started to sit up and take notice of the insecurities in the world of showbiz. Hats off to BBC Asian Network for being honest unlike the History Channel.

  10. shammi says:

Thank you so much Baig sir, the asian network site did indeed give me the list I was looking for. I was however very surprised that there was very few golden oldies on the list and most of them were fairly new songs. I’m not quite sure how the list was compiled but Mohd Rafisaheb definitely faced a lot of competiton from the younger generation so well done to all those who voted for the great Mohd Rafisaheb.
I am now in my forties and have been listening to Mohd Rafisaheb ever since I was a very young girl and if I had my way all 100 songs on that list would have been songs sung by Mohd Rafi not because I’m bias but because he is simply the best and in all honesty you just can’t beat him.

  11. SURESH RAFI says:

NO DOUBT RAFI SAHIB ALL SONGS ARE NO:1
    THANKS FOR GOD

Dear Mr. Shammi, this should do the trick. It took me over an hour to find it. Not very adept at browsing, I admit. Most sites had the top twenty or ten for that matter. Still can’t figure out why the link I posted earlier didn’t have it. It had a few lines from Vijanthimala and a link to the 100 songs. But then I never clicked on it as I was over zealously spreading the news. If this doesn’t help then please click on to BBC Asian Network and click on Asian Network – LIVE.
I am sure you can go to it directly as well. I just did it. Please hurry as I am not sure if content is removed after some time. At least unlike the other poll, here the people’s voice was honoured. Good luck!

  13. shammi says:

Dear Baig sir, I clicked on the link to see the list of songs that Mohd Rafisaheb was up against but couldn’t see what I was looking for on the link.

I really think it’s about time Mohd Rafisaheb got this recognition and am very pleased that some sort of justice seems to have taken place.

This is the link to the winning song plus the other songs in the list. I hope this helps.

  15. u.k.achan says:

I am very very happy to hear this.In our country there seems to be conscious
effort to ignore Rafi saab. How ridiculously stupid and mean.Any we Rafi fans know that there is no comparison of the greatest singer of our times. This 31 st
it is going to be 33 years since he transited to a higher plane and his fan following is superb even today.Forget about media;they have always propped up mediocre talent.

  16. A VERY GENUINE RECOGNITION BY A FOREIGN MEDIA – IRONICALLY THE PRESS IN INDIA HAS NEVER DONE JUSTICE TO RAFI SAHIB- ‘FILMFARE’ HAS AUDACITY TO PLACE RAFI SAHIB AS NUMBER 3 AFTER KISHORE KUMAR AND SONU NIGAM !! SOME CONCERTED EFFORTS ARE REQUIRED TO CALL UPON GOVT OF INDIA TO CONFER THE LONG AWAITED AND DUE ‘BHARAT RATNA’ TO MOHAMMAD RAFI- A DIVINE SOUL..

  17. SalRafi says:

Very good and heartening news to me and all Rafians. When will Indian authorities will relent and confer him Bharat Ratna.
Anyone has the complete list of songs?

  18. Ghawas says:

of Rafi Saab which nobody in the world possess.

  20. rl arora says:
