Rafi Foundation: Spreading The Maestro’s Sweet Music

MUSIC, Melody and Mohd Rafi begs to be said in the same breath say ardent Mohd Rafi fans who have formed the Rafi Foundation - a platform to bring Rafi lovers of the world together and take forward the unparalled singers ‘great works of art’ to the next generation of music lovers. Mr.Binu Nair, an NRI from Dubai formed the Rafi Foundation a year ago and within a year the unit has spread to many states in India and to cities like New York, London and the Gulf states.
The melody and music that Mohd.Rafi created, crafted and pioneered during the forty years of his career has stood the test of time and his mellifluous vocals rises like a glorious tide caressing the soul with songs for every mood and for every occassion - making music itself proud, says Mr.Nair who holds a musical event by the name Saturday Night RAFI Fever every second saturday of the month at Sion Koliwada, where Rafi lovers and Rafi centric singers, sing their hearts out .
Nostalgic Melodies such as ‘Caravan gujar gayi’, Tujhe kya sunaao mere dilruba, Tera Kaam hai jalna parwane, Mujhe tumse mohabbat hai and many other soulful numbers from the golden era of hindi film music can be heard on the day and u will spot ace leg spinner Padmakar Shivalkar singing hands folded looking up at and singing Oh Duniya ke Rakhwale , the Rafi classic and Mr.Ramakant Achrekar Sir, Sachin Tendulkars coach listening in rapt attention along with music lovers the classics made immortal by indian music giants.
The legends of the Music industry are honoured and their works and association with Mohd Rafi also discussed. Rafi Foundation also brings out a Music Magazine by the name Sargam on Dec 24 Rafi’s birth day and also on July 31 the singers death anniversary. On May 10th, at Naushad Hall the third part of Saturday Night Rafi Fever will be held and Rafi lovers can enjoy yet another musical evening in Sion Koliwada.

thanks for the compliments but one fact will remail and that’s : even if 10 binu nairs are not there, rafi saahebs works will remain “always alive” - since his output of classics and humanitarian conduct is unparelled and unconquerable, unlike mount everest. rafi saaheb has no end for the gods wished it this way - his songs and life are always a great source for living life.

pradip ji : anyone can enter the internet portals and presently a spam writer who is also a behroopiya/imposter has visited this site. he is coming in a new name and please check his credentials before giving him the freedom to spoil the spirit and sanity of this great mohd rafi website.
it has taken years to build this set-up and one should’nt be easily allowed to spoil the sanctity of this website.
to give an example, a chap was sending everyone not agreeing to his post to the hospital for medical check-ups. is he now operating in a new name.
i have my doubts and please check these fraudsters.

On 28th May, three rafi bakhts visited rafi saahebs “mazhar” - resting place and offered prayers and seeked rafi saaheb’s blessings. the boss or master -
naushad saaheb rests diagnolly opposite and most of the veterans/legends like majrooh, sahir, talat saaheb, madhubala - are at this site which is near santacruz police station - juhu.
three music lovers which included pravin mhaske, hanif mohd, kakaji naushad visited the site and prayed at this holy place - which has become the last addres of our legends.

jawaid naseem ji: thanks for a few good words and i will store this in my heart for a long time.
we have a mission and we will go ahead. rafi saahebs caravan is too big to be ignored and even the deaf and blind - will love our mission - that of celebrating rafi saahebs works.
as for some arm-chair 2-minute critics, all the best to them; they are only playing their role which is suitable to them.
for me the mission of rafi saaheb is more important and assuring that ” we will all go ahead ” and succeed.
