Teri Ada album is like unearthing a veritable goldmine lost in the sands of time. ‘TERI ADA’ Love is in the air’ brings out the last few songs of Mohammad Rafi, composed by late Chitragupt Ji and penned by Late Kafil Azar. Recorded 28 years ago, these hitherto unheard of songs are now being released by the composer duo Anand-Milind exclusively on the Reliance Mobile World.

Buying pirated CDs / Cassettes means disrespect to all those who have put in efforts for the sake our listening pleasure. That they make money on it is the rent we pay for their service. i agree with you that rafi sahab resides in each of us. But when some one is found who appears to sing like Rafi sahab then its natural that some one amongst us would have given his opinion that rafi sahab has come back.

Apart from all the worldly trappings, deep down in our soul it’s only something as simple as a hitherto un-released song of Rafi that can bring so much joy. It is not fanaticism but just a personal wish to hear a rare piece of music. Yes, I would be very pleased to enter into a dialogue with you about ‘Gold’ that you mentioned. Let me tell u that there are many many songs of rafi saab - unreleased.
I will name them.
film: aansoo: 3 songs. film: Kora aanchal : 4 songs…
With Naushad saab : few numbers : unreleased.
And I meet few people who ‘TALK’ of recordings done of rafi songs
but lying in the ’spools’.
the famous studio is closed and there was a treasure over there
which must have been lost.
We need to research the whereabouts of these songs and try to
bring them out for rafi foundation members and rafi lovers.
Besides, i have a c.d. full 30 minutes (video) in which rafi saab has
n a single given day for obvious
sung 8 songs; its the ‘only’ documentary authorised by rafi saab.
We need to do a world release

There is porducer living in kerala named N.P.Abu who is the owner of Priya films and has the exclusive right with all documents. He has Rafi saab’s letter, Censor certificate, Famous Studio receipts.
The documentary film is about 45 minutes and well filmed with Rafi sahabs interview in his house to Hrishikeshda’s bro-in-law, Rafi saab singing live about 6 songs only one or two para, Rafi saab playing carrom with his grandkids etc.
This is available in Hindi/urdu and Malayalam(Background).
For international rights and within India the 73 year old Abu sir is expecting around 15 lakhs to give all documents and to give full consent legally.

Dear rafi lovers,
Before the recording of chitchor songs ,musicdirector ravindrajain had an idea to record a duet in the voices of Rafisaab and K.J. Yesudas. Even the rehearsals were done at ravindrajainjis house in bombay . I dont know how many people are aware of this . But the song was not recorded as the musicdirector concluded that two melodious voices cannot do justice and the recording was shelved. But yesudas who considers rafisaab as his guru was so excited about meeting rafisaab at that point of time. He still admits at times that there will never be a singer like him. yesudas who is a well trained classical singer had always been a true admirer and had at many a times during live performances sung rafisaabs songs in his early years and had followed rafisaabs method of singing but never imitatedhis voice. Once while yesudas was singing o duniya ke.. at Bombays shanmukhananda hall and aftr the song was over rafisaab came over to the stage and hugged him . yesudas was overwhelmed and was not aware that rafisaab had heard this and was very much present there. Rafisaab had come there for some other reason and happened to listen this.Yesudas says..whenever he got an award or recognition he used to get his acknowledgment from rafisaab which he says as the most valuable one than anything. Yesudas in his addressing in rafisaabs documentary taken by Mr.abu says it is only because of rafisaabs musical infulence that he was able to learn a lot about perfection , modulation and everything about renditions. He goes on to say that Rafisaab is an university itself where every singer has got lots to learn. He says he is indebted to the greatest singer for whatever he learned when it comes to filmsongs renditions , apart from the classical music gurus.
Yesudasji in his artcle which came in a malayalam monthly said that even though he got to meet rafisaab after the chitchor recording session a few times in bombay before 1980 , it is the meeting at ravindrajains house that still comes in his memory like a 3d film. He said he was so happy that he was not able to say anything in rafisaabs presense.Rafisaab had reached ravindrajains place a bit early . Rafisaab when he saw yesudas got up , walked upto him and shook hands with joy. Rafisaab was such a humble and gentleman that he was never hesitant to express his joy and love even for junior artists .
we younger generation miss people like rafisaab .We realise the greatness of stalwarts like rafisaab when we listen to most of the filmsongs and the renditions nowadays..

Sabbir rana is from u.k. and called me several times. he has some
never heard songs of rafi ji like songs of aansoo : composer is
roshan lal , my friend and neighbour.
rafi ji used to sing for rupee one or for rupee 100 and used to say
in Punjabi to roshan lal :” tu si aage badh, menhu batah kitne
gaana mainu gaana hai” - this is punjabi, both were from Lahore.
roshan lal was composer ravi’s assistant in the glorious days.
post recording, the musicians were paid rs.300 or more but rafi ji
was given rs.100 in a sealed envelope by the composers nephew
and my good friend.
coming back to shabbir ji, he told me to check my mail for the
two aradhana songs - but it was not there. I asked him again as he
had promised…. now still i am waiting patiently.
if shabbir ji has the songs and if he is true and ardent fan of rafi ji
then he will send it to me in seven days from today i hope….and
request too…..

I salute shabbir rana who is a great fan of rafi saaheb and he has
the greatest “collections” of rare songs of the farishta.
since he told me to check my e.mail for the two aradhana songs
which he sent me , i “presume” that he has the songs with him
in tact near him.
Its a treasure and if he has it he must give it to rafi lovers.
in this regard : i had met shakti samanta the producer of aradhana
on his birthday at his santacruz residence. I asked him about the
two songs of aradhana in rafi ji’s voice.
he said “no such songs exist”………………….

you’ve worked very hard to collect the songs. right now i’m only 23 but i will put the same effort once i’m done with my studies. i too should too do my hard work to do the songs. but just one request - just one - and i’ll never ask for more - i would love to hear mere sapano ki rani in rafi’s voice just that one song please! mahboob ji - the songs you are asking for are very, very common in stores and the internet. please do share the aradhana solo shabir ji. you would warm the hearts of many rafi lovers.

Will this “Teri Ada” album ever get released on CD ? What’s the wait for? A video of the “Teri Ada” track was supposed to be made? Someone out there must know what’s happening?
This rumour of recorded tracks by Rafi of “roop tera mastana pyar mera diwana” & “mere sapnon ki rani kab aayegi tu”, just how true is this? Surely if this was really true, these tracks would have been released long ago!! I do often imagine how these tracks would have sounded if Rafi sang them! Furthermore if SD Burman did’nt fall ill, these tracks could have been credited to Rafi. Then again it is also said that Rafi kept away from the recording studio for a short while, hence these tracks were given to Kishore.

Clearly Shabir bhai’s efforts are unparalelled. Hat’s off to you Shabir Bhai. Its refreshing and amazing to hear the time you have donated and the journey you have taken. Post 70 . Manish ji… shabbir bhai from u.k. does not have the
songs : Mere sapnon ki raani & roop tera mastana as advertised
and claimed by him.
he has stopped calling me now from u.k. and i feel amazed why
people distort facts and make false claims.
I met shakti samanta the producer of aradhana and he told me
there is no such songs recorded in rafi ji’s voice. shabbirjis silence
now in the matter and absence of his calls proves that “no such
cassette of aradhana as mentioned above exist.”
Lets close this chapter - now…

dear shabbir and other respected members i m also great fan of rafi sahab. i also hv huge collection of rafi sahab , i m collecting songs since my childhood ,but there is some songs of rafi sahab which i m unable to find can any one help me for this songs ????
