Second Edition of the Biography of Mohammad Rafi “Meri Awaz Suno” has been published
This information is shared by Mr. Vinod Viplav.
After getting overwhelming response and appreciation, the first biography of great music legend Mohammad Rafi “Meri Awaz Suno” has come out with new look and more attractive features. The new edition of the book has more information, more pages and more photographs of Rafi Saheb.
As it was told in an earlier post in www.mohdrafi.com that the responses of the Rafi fans on the first edition of the book was unbelievable that has encouraged me to bring out the second edition of the book with additions. Being a writer and a diehard Rafi fan, I know that the appreciation which I got for the book is not due to my writing and my work, but because of the magic of the person who left us more than 27 years ago but his songs are still enthralling and delighting us. All I can only say that Mohd. Rafi is matchless and there would not be second Rafi in this universe. For Rafi fans like us, whose number may be millions, Mohammad Rafi is the one and only, source of inspiration and his songs are like Oxygen, in absence of which survival is impossible. We all Rafi fans not only want to listen his melodious voice but also want to know about each and every aspects of his life.

Janab Dr. Khaja Aliuddin Sahab
You have mentioned in post no. 8 that Biography of Mohd. Rafi in English is available, written by Mr. saleem-ul-Haq. But this book is not a biography, as Mr. Aseer rightly said in his post no 12. Book by Mr. saleem-ul-Haq is merely a collection of songs of Rafi Sahab.
At presen there are many books avaible in market but all are listing of songs. One good collection of songs is written by Pritam Meghani (Ullasnagar)and Ajit Pradhanam (Mumbai). The title of this book is - Mere Geet Tumhare. One book is published by Raja Pocket Books. However both these books are in Hindi and are collection of songs, not a biography. That is why i said in my previous post that a biography of Rafi Saheb is urgently needed in English. I had an opportunity to talk to Mr. Vinod Viplav and he told me that he had contacted many govt. Publishers like National Book Trust and Publication Division regarding publication of biography of Rafi Saheb in English but it is unfortunate that no body is comming forward to take the responsibilty to write biography in English. I again say that if englsih book is published, it will have great demand. Biography of Rafi Sahab should also be published in Urdu, Punjabi and other indian languages also.

Good work Pradeep ,
This was required. This site is like a temple for us where we come closer to our rafi saab and not fight amongst ourselves.
Rafi saab will be ashamed of us if we continue to fight amongst ourselves.

Janab Binu Nair Saheb, Adab Araz hai,
You can contact Saleem-ul-Haq at this e-mail address and can get that book. Once you see this book, you will realize that how much hard work he did. Like Mr. Aseer wrote in his e-mail, that he is not only the collector of Rafi saheb’s songs, he is the collector of other singers too. He has vast knowledge of Rafi saheb’s filmy life, filmy and non filmy songs. Also he had collection of photos of Rafi saheb.

Why not any body take responsibilty to write a biography of Mohd. Rafi in English. A Feature Film or 3 hour documentary film should be made on Rafi. We all rafians, instead of fighting ourself, should be united and work some good work, not such cheap work of attacking another, without any reason.

I am an adrant fan of Mohammad Rafi from Pakistan. I am happy to see that people are still “crazy” for Mohammad Rafi. Some people are doing good work and some are doing bad work, but they all claim a great rafi fan. Who is right and who is wrong, time will definelty tell, as time has tell that there is no like Rafi.
I want to appreciate the work of Vinod Viplav and i want to read the first edition of the book also. How I can get it. I am ready to pay postal charge.
