Salute Mohammed Rafi Sir

This article is written by Mr. D.P.BIJOOR

31st July 1980 can be considered as the blackest day in the annals of the history and of the century mainly since on this very day the immortal genius, a sweet & melodious voice owner, greatest philanthropist, and above all a human being par excellence was snatched away amidst us by the cruel hands of fate. Mohammed Rafi the greatest ever had to face the wrath of the untimely demise at the sheer and the cruel laws of the destiny and his thus leaving all of us at the tender age of almost 56 years was most shocking and sudden.

29 long & patient years have since elapsed from the fateful day but the industry is still finding it extremely difficult in equally searching for the voice which Rafi Saab had dearly possessed for more than over 4 long decades. In my personal opinion and belief it would probably be an almost impossible task of finding a substitute of the class & quality of Rafi Saabs caliber in the future centuries to come.

On 28th July 1980 exactly 3 days before his sad demise Rafi had recorded the very last song of his career from the film “Aas Paas” under the music composition of Laxmikant Pyarelal and the lovely aalap was:

Tere aane kee aas hai dost, sham kyoon udhas hai dost, Mahkee Mahkee fiza yah kahetee hai, Tu sach mooch kaheen AAS PAAS hai dost

How true it was when Rafi sang “Chaman ke phool bhee tujhako gulab kahete hai, hamee nahee hai sabhee lajawab kehte hai

Who on the Earth will ever say “Mohammed Rafi” is no more with us mainly since Rafi still lives and shall continue to live on with all of us since mortals like us die and fade away in the thin air but immortals of the caliber of Rafi Saab live everlastingly with us and continue to shower the fragrance and the beauty of the innumerable classics for many many more years to come

On the 29th Anniversary I along-with his innumerable fans & admirers bow down in the most respectful homage in the ever lasting & dear memory of our beloved king of melody Mohammed Rafi Saab and pray to the Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace.

Salute Mohammed Rafi Sir!!!

Salaam Aapki Meethi Nazar Ko Salaam!

Whenever anyone has a look at any of the pictures of Rafi Sahab, What strikes him/her is the calm on his face and his beautiful smile, and one feels that not only his lips are smiling, his eyes are also smiling with him. This is something probbably no other artist can match, with due respects to everyone. Like his voice which was often referred to as the Voice of the Almighty (and will continue to be referred to that only), his personality was also such that it commanded and deserved respect and admiration from one and all.

Woh Jab Yaad Aaye, Bahut Yaad Aaye, Gham Zindagi ke Andhere mein humne, Charaag-e-muhabbat Jalaaye, Bujhaaye!

Every year on this day, I have a feeling that something is missing which was part of me, and by evening, I feel good that til the time I am on earth, his voice will remian with me. Rafi Sahab will always remain alive, long after lakhs of like us are gone!

    Long live Rafi Sahab!

  6. AHAMED KUTTY says:

In one interview laxmikant md told that the song “tere aane ki
aas he dhost” recorded on tuesday i.e.29th July 1980.rafi saab died on
31st July – thursday.also laxmikant told that while leaving the recording
studio rafi saab said “to mein chaloom” the last word with laxmikant and
    left.

i believe so many stories are there about rafi saab which he did not
want to disclose to others since he was so humble and did not like
cheap popularity.he had good connections with great leaders of his
    time.

  7. Saifullah says:

May his soul rest in peace !!!!

Rafi Saheb passed away on this day before 29 long years, but seems it was just yesterday. This day, we call it as a “black day”. People will never forget him…. day by day he’s remembered through his songs all over. I pay my full respect to the golden voiced melody monarch, and pray to Allah, to rest his soul in peace. Long live Rafi Saheb, a true Bharat Ratna.
