Shree Kulswamini Mata Charitable Trust, founded in 2001 to help underprivileged sections of society like widows, orphans and the handicapped, is organizing the show Meri Awaaz Suno…Un-plugged Mohammed Rafi by Suresh Wadkar. To be held on December 24 at the Shanmukhananda Auditorium, Mumbai, the show will also have other singers like Vaishali Samant, Anil Vajpayee and Ravi Tripathi with a 50-piece orchestra. To keep the essence of the original Rafi song, no electronic instrument will be used. Raj Sodha has arranged the music for this 210-minute show that will be anchored by popular actress Varsha Usgaonkar and introduced by Nana Patekar. December 24 marks the 81st birth anniversary of the late singer. Dilip Kumar, Asha Parekh, Ranjeet, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt along with composer Pyarelal and singers Asha Bhosle, Hariharan and Sonu Nigam are expected to grace the event. Shammi Kapoor and Naushad have been invited to be the guests of honour. Surdasji from ISKCON is expected to bless the show. The event is supported by Suniel Shetty and produced by Happy Lucky Entertainments.
