today i was watching the musical programme in telugu, ‘ jhummandi naadam ‘

in that Dr P. Susheela the famous playback singer of south was the celebrity. When she was asked about her inspiration, as regards the melody & renderings she qouted the names of rafi sahab, Lata ji, Asha ji. She told even if she does not understand hindi / urdu completely she adores them.

The very first name she took was that of rafi sahab. In fact all the playback singers of the highest order like Dr P. Susheela garu , S.P.Balasubramanyam garu & the legendary Dr K.J.Jesudas jee breath the name of Rafi sahab.

rafi sahib has sung for dharmender’s brother varinder in numerous punjabi films.The meastro has also sung for mithun chakravoty, danny , asrani , dara singh , shatrughan sinha ,vinod mehra,vinod khanna and the list is unending coz u cant estimate or limit the career spanning 40 yrs.

ur article is excellent but the start in which u have given the names of the actors for which rafi sahib sang in his immortal and uncomparable voice is some what awkward coz the list is almost unending and u cant display all of the actors names coz rafi sahib carreer spanned for over 40 years and we even dont know some of the actors names but still remmember the songs such as the gem of a song
” SUHANI RAAT DAL CHUKI NA JANE TUM KAB AOGE”.
i dont know the name of the actor even after viewing this song on t.v many times and there r numerous such examples.

however i must congratulate u on ur magnificient effort plz continue in this fashion we all rafi sahib fans are with you
