My Father Mr: Kishore.M.Makwana and My Self (Suniel.K.Makwana) are very great fan of Padamashree Mohd.Rafi Sahab. We are staying near Famous Studio at Tardeo were Rafi Sahab use to come for his song recording and whenever we listen the songs sung by him we always say Tarif karu kya aunki jisne tumhe banaya, Chahe pass ho chahe door ho mere jivan ki tum takdir ho, and Dil ne phir yaad kiya.
Whenever ever I think of him or listen to his song, I say tu kaha ye bata is nashile raat mein mane na mera dil deewana. Rafi Sahab has sung for many Actor such as Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Late Shri Sunil Dutt, Shashi Kapoor and few memorable songs of Shri Raj Kapoor also. The Great Shankar Jaikishan recorded their first song with the legend Rafisahab in “Barsat”, which was picturised on Raj Kapoor. Rafi Sahab has sung in many languages like Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, Konkani and in English with perfect pronouncation, after rehearsing for days before each recording. I would like to say for him that tum bin jaun kahan ke duniya mein aake kuchh na phir chaha sanam tum ko chaah ke and for all I would like to say Hai duniya usiki zamana usika ka mohabbat mein jo ho gaya ho kisika. My Father says for him dekha hai teri aankhon mein pyar hi pyar besumar apne fans ke liye. At night maine punchha chand se ke dekha hai kahin mere saab sa hasin chand ne kaha chandani ki kasam nahi nahi nahin..
About Rafisahab: {Maximum to Maximum information about him are less as he is The Legend of Indian Cinema }. A part from singing Rafisahab loved sports and his favorite sports are carrom, badminton and flying kites. He likes to play carrom very much with family members. In Rafi sahab’s family humility was equated with workshipping. He had a lovable nature, and no enemies. Rafisahab first song was a duet with GM Durrani “Aji dil ho qaabu mein to dildar ki aisi taisi” and from this song Rafisahab started his musicial career in Indian Cinema. Rafisahab is known as the Great Maestro Of Music he is also known as The Legend Of Our Indian Cinema.. And who ever listens to his songs, the song will be closest to his heart. Once Raj Kapoor listened “Main Apne Aapse Ghabra Gaya Hoon” rendered by Rafisahab for Film “Bindiya” and he was very much impressed and told Shankar Jaikishan to compose songs like “Main Apne Aapse” for him. On 31st of July, 1980 the words sung by him, hum to chale pardes hum pardesi ho gaye chhuta apna desh hum pardesi ho gaye became true. Rafi sahab passed away and he left the world. It’s a very big loss to Indian Cinema. To pay their last respect, large number of Rafians attened the last journey in the heavy rain. He was cremated at Santacruz Kabrastan, the holly place for all Rafians use to sing “Kaise Kategi Zindagi Tere Bagair Tere Bagair“.

today i was watching the musical programme in telugu, ‘ jhummandi naadam ‘
in that Dr P. Susheela the famous playback singer of south was the celebrity. When she was asked about her inspiration, as regards the melody & renderings she qouted the names of rafi sahab, Lata ji, Asha ji. She told even if she does not understand hindi / urdu completely she adores them.
The very first name she took was that of rafi sahab. In fact all the playback singers of the highest order like Dr P. Susheela garu , S.P.Balasubramanyam garu & the legendary Dr K.J.Jesudas jee breath the name of Rafi sahab.

rafi sahib has sung for dharmender’s brother varinder in numerous punjabi films.The meastro has also sung for mithun chakravoty, danny , asrani , dara singh , shatrughan sinha ,vinod mehra,vinod khanna and the list is unending coz u cant estimate or limit the career spanning 40 yrs.
