DEAR VINOD VIPLAVJI
MY HEARTIEST CONGRATULATION TO YOU -FOR WRITING THE BIOGRAPHY OF
OUR BELOVED MOHAMMED RAFI SAHAB -”THE BADSHAH OF ALL SINGERS” !!!
THANKS & BEST REGARDS / A.T.M. SALIM.

its not correct to comment that ‘ this branch of rafi sahab’s foundation is overtaking that branch. its all a united effort. I consider every branch is a part of rafi sahab and equally unique. Difference of opinion starts like this only. For GOD’s sake let us not comment like this. Mr Binu nair I dont mind if I hurt you because I am right in what I am saying. We are all working for a common cause and that is to impress our union govt to realise that apart from recieving padmashri Rafi sahab deserves Bharat Ratna which is the motto of all of us. So let us try and see that Rafi sahab is honoured with this award.

Dear Ramakrishna:
Post no.3 : I liked your ‘ head master’ way of address to me on the
Delhi unit competing and getting ahead.
As a management person many management gurus has motivated
me and others to achieve great results. My write-up was only meant
to motivate others in to swift action - for the rafi foundation cause.
Sir, everyone is equal in the rafi forum : but each individual will have
a great quality in himself which I think he must give for the cause.
I know u and I love u - for the cause.
There is no differences of opinion : only exchange of ideas and
motivation involved. We have to surge ahead and we need more
branches and rafi lovers - for the sake of music…
Ur head master comments has not provoked me at all . I meet
many people who are best in giving their advices about how to
run the foundation and if I listen to them all i have to devote many
years of my life - to just listening which I will painstakingly avoid..
Lets get along to our main agenda and not hit rafi lovers -below
the belt….
binu nair.

dear binu,
I am indeed very sorry to hurt your feelings. There was some block some where in my mind. Now its clear. I assure you to render all my help from hyderabad limb for this noble cause. In your other comment you have advised me to be humble and simple like Rafi sahab. I am trying binu but I tell you it may take several years for me possibly to be as simple and humble like Rafi sahab, its because Rafi sahab is a Farishta for me and me a normal man. I am not at all emotional . This I am speaking from my deep within. Sorry again binu.

Hi Binu Sahab,
I really appreciate your exposure to management techniques! Even Amar swears by that!
But, I totally agree with Mr. Ramakrishna.

Lets all stop this work of back patting on non-issues; for we are
actually spending our scarce resources in un-productive subjects.
Lets all from now think how we can spread rafi saabs songs/music;
honour vintage generation music makers and celebrate their
gold plated offerings to mankind.
Also , we can in our scarce time think and act on how to take the
rafi foundation message to every town and cities of the universe.
Let’s all plunge in to some action…
binu nair. the rafi foundation mumbai.

binu, backpatting is a normal human emotion. let it flow dont worry.
as regards the major aspect you mentioned, it has already germinated. students doing their Masters in the universties in the state of Illinois and Indiana of united states have started visiting the site mohdrafi.com. My son who is doing his masters in northern illinois is a representative of this great foundation there. He has become a fan of rafi sahab being inspired by the song ‘ main zindagi ka saath nibhata chalagaya’ from hum dono. i wish this fragrance to engulf the total united states soon.

Backpatting and criticism is the easiest things in life my friends.
can we stop this and get on to spread the great works of legend
mohd rafi?
May I also add that one lifetime is just not enough to hear and understand
the legends great works..
I am happy that rafi lovers are now seriously talking and doing great
things to spread the melodies of legend mohd rafi. please keep it
up..

i have now received my copy of the book - meri awaz suno - and i find it contains much more material than i had perceived. in fact another biography on rafi sahab is written in english by mr saleem-ul-haq and when compared to that book, the hindi version scores very highly. however mr saleem-ul-haq compensates by providing a free cd of the very ‘rare’ songs of rafi sahab (some of them not available in the market). but on the whole a good job of compiling all the data on rafi sahab’s life and times and meri awaz suno worth reading. elsewhere i shall give a detailed account of mr saleem-ul-haq (from Hyderabad) as he is an avid collector of all old songs, photographs and several other memorablia and is a powerhouse of knowledge on hfm. asmurty2@rediffmail.com

as murty,
i’m thinking of ordering both - only reason i won’t order mr vinod’s **just yet** is because i’m learning to read hindi first lol. just curious - how many rare songs does mr saleem’s book include? thanks.
