Once, the Silver Jubilee of ‘Binaca Geet Mala’…
This anecdote was provided by Ms. Nalini Ramji
Once, the Silver Jubilee of ‘Binaca Geet Mala’ was being celebrated in Shanmukhananda Hall in Bombay. Rafi was among the many film personalities who attended the show. Just before the program, one young fan went up to Rafi and gave him a salutation. Rafi also replied. After the program, the boy was standing outside waiting for his car when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning, he saw Rafi, who had wanted to meet him before he left. He shook hands with the youngster and went, leaving his fan stunned by his simplicity and warm-heartedness.

Brought tears to my eyes at the humility of such a great personality as the Immortal Rafi Sahaab.

A person like rafi is always hindu (Indian)
If hussein goes in past or present he can easily able to see that dilipkumar,k.asif , mehboob khan is possible in india as only indian culture accept any one without castisisam.
Today javeds-salman-amir-shahrukh-adnaan(FRM:pakistan) shabana is possible only BHARAT and they have to take proud of HINDUSTANI and salute REST INDIANS to accept them

Please, note that Rafi Saheb could sing in any language of India, so, he was a pure Indian.

We all see a bright thing in the sky and we call it SUN…we all see another bright thing in the sky at night and we call it MOON…when we feel something cool touching our body we call it WIND…a colourless liquid quenches our thirst and we call it WATER..Likewise we hear a melodious voice and we call it Md Rafi. As far as I know the sun, the moon, the wind and the water do not have any caste. Then why people think Rafi Saab’s voice has a caste. His voice was above all these things. Remember…
MALIK NE HAR INSAN KO INSAN BANAYA
HUMNE USE HINDU YA MUSALMAN BANAYA
So friends, forget about caste and creed and keep enjoying his devine voice till your ears help you.
Regards to all Rafians !

the singers / artist has no cast no greed no religon when they they are on the field. that is the problem we indians are fasing to day. however Lata ji most devoted hindu girl song the most paisoed sufi gaszal , as Rafi Sahab sing the most unforgatable pure vajan being a devoted muslim. we are all indian no matters what is our cast / greed / or religons. ” TU HINDU BANEGA NA MUSALMAN BANGEGA, INSAAN KE AULAD HE , INSAAN BANEGA”

dear ones, though rafi saab was a pure muslim, he respected all religions and its people. he sung many bajans, and devotional songs like hariyom.. (baijubavare) gang meri mam ka nam., (tumse acha kon hai ) jai jai bavanee, ambe jagad amme kalee.. similerly he had sung a number of mulim , sikh and hindu bhakti songs and qawalis.all these aspects shows that rafi sab had any discrimination between religions.the all time presence of rafi saab’s smile shows his purity and greatness.an arrogant man cold not keep his smile and dignity always.

Almost a similar incident took place this time it was in Madras (now Chennai) It was in the early 1970s when Rafi Sahab came to Madras to give a live concert held then at University auditorium. After intermission a few young fans ran to the stage to hand over a chit containing their favourite songs which they want Rafi to sing I was also one of them. My choice was
subha na aye shyam na aye from the film cha cha cha beautifully composed by Iqbal qureshi. A few chits were only accepted. The organisers dragged some of the young fans I was again one of them. My chit (slip of paper) could not reach Rafi but he noticed me.
After the show, I went near his car to take his autograph but could not succeed as there were many people around. Rafi noticed me and said “agla samai jaroor” and he left See his simplicity and his humanness. The scene is still green in my memory as if it happend a few days back.
NOT ONLY A GREAT SINGER BUT A GREATER PERSON..
